next patch

whens the next patch coming out the one when they say the artis can destroy units and "new goodies" the reason i ask is i just back from camp after 2 weeks

1) Not soon enough, says the part of me that has given up playing 1.17 (gameplay is not very good)

2) Probably too soon, says the part of me that has given up playing 1.17 (given how poorly 1.17 was tested)

Whenever it is, you can bet the front pages for civfanatics, apolyton, and theCiv III home page will all have big news items! All three also hosted copies of the 1.17 patch, and I would assume they will do the same for 1.18.

So check your favorite once a day - CW is that it will come out in a week or two (patches seem to be coming every two months).

Meanwhile I'll be trying to get DirectX 8.1 working correctly so I can play Diablo II....

If I had to take a gamble I would have to say it will show up on the 19th. Considering that the last two patches all showed up when I was visiting my alma matar, and I will be heading back up there in two weeks. Yeah I know its just unrelated coincidences (but at the same time I have seen a fair number of similar type complaints), but it is still amusing. Of course this has meant that I could not play with the new patch for a week after its release each time.

But realistically, Firaxis won't tell us anything about its release date till it is released (or at best a day or two before).
