NHL lockout

I disagree, as I said before, it's a good day for hockey. I'm quite pleased that the nunces running the NHL are being taken down a peg, their egos have done a number on the sport.

@Gnarfflinger: Do you not get TSN or CTV Sportsnet? I'm pretty sure they're running all kinds of hockey.

TSN yes, but not Sports net. I get Leafs TV to, but have had little luck finding hockey when I'm not outvoted for the remote...

I'm about 45 minutes out of London and the Knights are tearing up the OHL this year. Man I wish I could get to the games...

good riddance... too many rich babies whining

In fact, it would be appear to be dead again... what is this, the National Hockey Living-Dead?

 Maybe, though I thought you lot would prefer to use that term for Leaf fans! ;)

Maybe they should sack Bettman and let Gretzky and Lemieux run the league.

As for us Leafs fans, we can live with it when the General manager guts the team and we bottom out. We'll get back on top somehow. We can live with it when another team crushes our playoff dreams, there's always next year. But when Bettman and Goodenow make the year vanish because they can't work together to reach a solution that's fair to both sides, then I get really sick of it. I like the idea of firing Bettman, but fire Goodenow too. Let Gretzky and Lemieux try it. You might get an exciting product and a system that lets a responsible owner turn a profit while bankrupting the idiots...

I agree Gnarfflinger, but of course you're trying to mix logic with the NHL, something that has never been done. :(

NHL SEASON RISING FROM DEAD

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl

never had a chance, both sides came saturday to accept the surrender of the other. They brought no new deals or plans, once they got together and saw neither planed to give in they had nothing to talk about. People are talking about the national larbor board settling it but it has been pointed out already that the u.s. and canada have differant larbor laws--an agreement forced on them by the american board mite not be binding to canadian teams and vice versa.

settle in till the allstar game cause thats how long its going on.

At this point, I would sooner jump in bed with Pat Quinn then be subjected to another year of rhetoric from either side or the media. Is the WHA going to become a viable option, what with Esposito jumping ship last week?

Maybe Bob and gary should try it sometime. Their starting positions both make sense--but neither is willing to let the other have a share of the cake. Logic dictates that both can have their cake and eat it too...
