Any clues as to which part of the VE mod might be causing 8 out of 10 mouse clicks to pause the game for 2-6 seconds? Lag also occurs most of the time a new unit is selected, typically during the pan to center the unit on screen. This bit of annoyance is negating any modded playability increase gained from an otherwise tepid installment to the Civ line.

A few other bit of info: No other mods are active, and the game is as updated as Steam wants it to be. During these lag periods, there is no noticeable increase in memory usage (only half of what I have available is used by the game), nor any additional load to my CPU (In fact, cores 1 and 3 actually drop all load during the pauses). There is, however, a noticeable increase in memory hard faults during some of the lags... but nothing consistent enough to account for the frequency of the occurrences.

In any event, I'm not enamored by Civ V enough to be overly concerned with a resolution... but I would rather not have to re-install Civ IV just to satiate my occasional Civ jones. ;)

others have reported increased turn times with CivUP, not sure about that but one thing that's definitely noticeable for me is that after units attack it takes some seconds for them to get deselected, pretty annoying :/

We're tracking the problem here, but not successfully so far. And I haven't gotten around to play the game since then, so I'm not sure the problem still persists for me... But it's annoying, yes.

yes, the city screen lag only gets ugly after a while while the postcombat lag is there since turn 1.

also the increased turn times compared to vanilla should be investigated..
