Nigeria, like South Africa, India (and Pakistan), Kenya, and others are not cultures, but nation-states born of colonialism. Having known a few Nigerian-Canadians from work, it is very clear that Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa do not consider themselves to be of the same culture at all, or to have any strong cultural ties other than ancestral trade and war, and just (uneasily) cohabitate a legal and political sovereign nation. I consider calling, "Nigerians," a, "culture," dubious, but I won't harp on the issue too much...

This is another of my favorites from the DLC

I see your point, but on the other hand, what would be the option to represent Africa in the contemporary era, since most of the options are nation-states born of colonialism? I think it's impossible to run away from them if we want "cultures" from contemporary era. Some of them are very notables currently and make totally sense for this game (America, Brazil, Australia and what would be the contemporary representation for India if not modern India itself?).

About Nigerians, they seem pretty interesting. It will be the first time that I'll be able to play as a Nigerian cultura in a game like this.

Only other example I can think of, personally, of this is that in the Age of Empires III Expansion Pack, The African Royals, the Hausa are a playable civ, and the Yoruba are available as an, "allied civ." But, you are correct. It is otherwise an EXCEEDINGLY rare game option in nation-building and -managing strategy games across the board - barring fanmade mods.
