On the inherited turn I take the suggested deal with Wang and grab Aesthetics and Lit with our spies with no loss.
I fire specialists in Amsterdam for now and build the National Epic there (after completing the mace and spreading Judaism). The Heroic in Uppsala is an obvious choice too, but I delayed it since I want some CR2 trebs quick.
It's embarrassing to call a decision a no-brainer and then change your mind, but that's what I did. I had saved after the first two turns since it was taking forever to adjust everything, and when I came back I decided Economics was a bad choice. Our cities are already saturated with foreign trade (and we'll soon lose Egypt), so Free Market is nice but not worth 2 turns of anarchy as we prepare for war. I switch to Gunpowder and complete it.
Napoleon gets Compass, and I take it and his gold for Paper. I sell Paper to Charlie too. This opens up a slightly better trade with Justinian than was possible before, and I jump on it.
Justinian's map was surprisingly worth something. We may want to research Astro and use our lovely UU to settle a large island/small continent east of us.
We are building universities and also a grocer in Etruscan for the merchant slots. Please please whip these when the pop cost goes down by one. Also Rotterdam, Delft, Nidaros, and Tonsberg are all very good cities to consistently whip.
I turn off research after Gunpowder. I upgrade a couple units with 3 promos, and a few droplets go into Military Tradition. The next player probably wants to make a definite decision here and burn the gold on research. I think we will (or should) take Ramesses' best cities and have him capitulate before Cuirassiers can make an impact.
We are quite ready to declare on the next player's first turn. (but note a couple units on go-to orders may get trapped if you declare before they move) Here is a sketch of a battle plan.
Our main army has a ton of maces, trebs, and war elephants and will head down to Memphis. We have 3 spies ready there to incite revolt. The Pyramids aren't worth quite so much now that Justinian and Wang will trade Constitution, but MoM is still very nice. The AP is here too, but taking it means we will be up against Justinian for leadership (if we delayed war and spread Judaism to one more city we would likely win leadership in the next vote - I much prefer war now). After Memphis, I think we want to send the majority of that army to Thebes.
The south has a few trebs, cats, and knights, and some more units primarily for defense. There is also a spy in Pi-Ramesses. I think the next player will want to collect a few more horse archers over here on the inherited turn, some are still in Maastricht and the coastal horse cottage city.
In the north by Etruscan we have a chokepoint with forts. I don't have an offensive army here. There are veteran spears on the forts, feel free to upgrade or move a mace from the main army if necessary. I have muskets en route to these forts, but I gathered an offensive army quicker than I expected, so the defense is a little thin now.
Good luck, let's make this a golden age Ramesses will remember
