NO-1: Tree huggers of the world unite

T0 - Start the golden age. I wish that communism was completed so I could switch civics now and start rush buys a turn earlier. We are very short on spies. Turn off research.

T1 -

Our gold per turn increases on switching to State Property despite the number of cities we have, I had even made an effort to switch the specialists to merchants. I have our workers build uberworkshops in some deforested cities. As the turns progress I get lazier and lazier though :D

We rush buy a lot of cannons and spies, and draft some infantry in some places. Infantry won't play too much of a role here since they are slow and I'm not giving Charlie a chance to use grens offensively, but they are nice to have.

I take Strasburg and Prague

T2 - Napoleon is liberated. There is an AP vote to stop the war against Nap I vote No, since the victory conditions screen says we have enough votes to stop the resolution.

I take Orleans, Luxembourg, and Florence.

T3 - We can indeed continue the war

I found the tundra city in our south for the tiles, it's called 's-Hertogenbosch. That's a sweet name, I wish it was an earlier city.

I take Aachen and Augsburg. Charlie is dead.

T4 - I turn research back on just because. I had also assigned specialists in Amsterdam and Etruscan just for the sake of more useless great people.

T5 - Switch civics to Free Speech and Free Religion. I'm building cuture and running artists in new border cities, why not speed the process up? Also we get useless techs faster.

I take Lyons

T6 - ...and I take Paris.

Our spies have been excellent. Not a one has failed to revolt, although I don't use a spy for every city (most though).

T7 - I have over a dozen cavalry in range of Naps final city including four super units.

Nap is dead! Have we won yet?
I proceed to shift enter as our cities come out of revolt and our land increases....

T9 - We get the general from Fascism and get a merchant the same turn in Amsterdam. 2 turns later we get another merchant in Etruscan. We finished Bio and started the National Park in Amsterdam which completed soon after. None of this matters of course.

.....10 turns of shift-entering pass, I get several more techs....

Ok now I'm seriously just bored. Finally all our cities have come out of revolt and popped borders but check this out!

I turn up the culture slider and move our units to take a border city of Justinian's (he just declared against Wang)

But war is ultimately unnecessary...

Good game guys! Once we got back on our feet after the religious plans flopped, we crushed this game.

:goodjob:

We won a bit to fast to see the benefits (?) of our preserved forests

We actually got a lot of forest spread in my turns, I tried to keep up with pillaging but I lost interest after a point. I did use forest preserves to counter draft and war weariness unhappiness, but yeah no 'forest economy' or anything. The restriction did make settling and city development interesting though. I almost wish we didn't have so many resources and floodplains.

Here is an autosave from the end, and a save from the middle of this last set if anyone's interested (the cities are a mess of course).
