No accounting for ads, but c'mon...

I know that ads are placed using some arcane process of what the page is about plus whatever data they can mine about me. Since the data they can mine about me is pretty limited I figure the banner at the top of the forum must be mostly a product of what we talk about. So here's a question...

Why all of a sudden is like every third time up a banner ad for a swim school in Chicago, featuring a picture of a baby? Have the ad spiders decided we are all getting ready to move to Chicago and breed little swimmers?

Or is this just directed at me for reasons I cannot even begin to fathom?

Anybody else seeing ads that just make you stop and wonder why in the world they would ever want to target you?

cfc uses google ads iirc. its probably just making associations/connections based on your browsing history/the demographic of cfc. Hell between whomp, dt, godwynn, and hygro it may just be assuming this is a chicago-based forum.

Especially since you are in LA according to your little info doodad. I like things that make sense. A Chicago swim school with lessons for babies does not really resonate for me somehow, being a couple thousand miles away and my kids being in their thirties.
