I know the generic response from the moderators:

Here is the reply I got to my question about being able to play on my laptop without a CD rom drive (it's a mini sized laptop).

"Gregory,

Unfortunately, we have no way in which to remove the copy protection that requires the game cd.

Alex
Technical Support for Infogrames, Inc.
(425)951-7106"

So I guess I'm SOL. Has anyone else had any luck getting a no-cd patch from infogrames? Did this tech guy not know what he was doing?

I really want to play this game legitamately!

Good! So you know what I opened this thread expecting to see. ;)

I don't know if Alex_from_Infogrames knows what he is talking about or not. I do know that last year, several people received help with a no-cd version from Firaxis or Infogrames.

I'll leave this thread open for now, to let any of those people say something, but:

You know what will happen if anyone says to download warez!

Well, of course, I already _tried_ to download warez. But I'm not a good warezer or something. I had no luck! Anyway, thanks for the tip, maybe I'll ask firaxis. It's quite possible that infogrames people don't really care about me and my Civ3 addiction.

I was not recognizing you Zulu9812 because you have changed avatar.
Isn't it against Forum Rules to send a no-CD crack. Those who use w***z version could have it too. Unless you send it to his e-mail. (And he can prove that he have bought the game)

Moderator Action: This thread has been borderline on piracy since the beginning. I give up - it's being closed.

Zulu, while I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt about the "legitimacy" of your no-cd version, it is not your place to supply it to other posters, even if they *can* prove they have a legitimate copy of the game.

Sorry, freakboy, it looks like we can't help you.
