No crash site from de-orbiting satellite ?

According to civilopedia, de-orbiting satellite may create a crash site that can be exploited by an explorer for various bonus.
Has anyone ever seen it happening ?
I am half way through my second game, but the only crash sites I've seen were too early in the game to be from satellite launch by me or other players.

During my first playthrough, I think I saw one crash the turn after it de-orbited. Never since though. If the Civilopedia is right, it does say "may", not will for sure.

It's possible the location of the deployed satellite is unrelated to where it crashes down
