(I haven't posted here in ages so if I missed finding a related thread or this is in the wrong section, feel free to inform me and/or move it. Sorry and thanks in advance!)

Hey guys, due to unfortunate circumstances (and a LOT of them), I could only start the game tonight. Going through the options I noticed that the W key has a use other than the "Wait" command that I've been used to forEVER, and use constantly. It's essentially been essential for me.

Is Civ VI missing this? I really hope not...

Any info or abilities to remedy this (if applicable) are *beyond* greatly appreciated.

You're a *fantastic* site and community, so firstly I thank you all for that. As for this specifically, I also thank you in advance! Cheers you Civvers!

Space bar skips the turn, as it always has. And F makes a combat unit fortify (same effect as skipping a turn if that's all you want) just make sure to wake him up next turn

Through 4 & 5, I literally never even knew about W

To RealHuhn: Not directly. In some of the Civ predecessors, you could hit W so that it would move on to the next active unit and then come back to the prior unit for its orders. Essentially, it let you cycle through your active units, so you could come back to that unit later if you wanted to assign orders to other units first.

Hopefully that adequately explains things.

Nope, if you don't want to skip the rest of the units turn you have to click on another unit to activate; the "w" key was switched to a new screen (that's a lot less useful than the wait command was)

There is the Next Action hotkey you can set in the Options. I set this to one of my spare mouse buttons (and the other spare button to Skip Turn). This way I can progress through the turn faster, which is a must when the auto unit cycling is turned off.

In the Options / Settings menu (I'm not at my PC at the moment), where you can setup Hotkeys, one of the hotkeys you can set progresses to the next action - this essentially hotkeys the big round button on the bottom right. So this hotkey will go to the next unit, choose production, technology, civic etc whatever the next action is.

Ohhh, okay! Thank you very much, Real!

I'm afraid of sounding like a broken record lol, but... it appears so far that there's no more "Center on current unit" (defaulted as C in the past), anymore either?

A lot of hotkeys are missing. You can click on the units graphic (in the big circle where the unit details are) to center it though, but no hotkey for that.

You can click on the exclamation point for "a unit needs orders" and it will cycle to the next unit, I think. I think the first time you click it centers on the active unit and the second time it moves to the next unit. Or maybe it's that if you click the giant "!" It centers it and there's a different button right there you can use to skip? Sorry I'm not more helpful, I'm not st home at the moment. But I'm pretty sure you can do both things by clicking.

I miss using the numpad for movement. It as especially nice in the beginning of the game when you were just scouting.

I just want to make sure it'll cycle back if you do that, right?

You can hit the Enter key for next available action/unit. It can be redefined in the hotkey options.

Same question, will that cycle back? If so, I'm surprised this got missed.

My old laptop key had the W faded on the key because I pushed that button so much. I definitely hope there is an option.

Here's a related (I think) question:

In Civ 5, you could click on a little shield and see a comprehensive list of all of your units. Double-clicking one of them centered the map on that unit. It was a great way to be able to keep track of everyone, especially military units you wanted to upgrade.

Is there a similar function in Civ 6? Try as I might, I cannot find any way to see a list of all my units at once.
