When I try to launch Civ4, a box appears labeled ActiveMark technologies stating that an internet connection is required. Whether I click "Already Connected" or "Connect", I get the same result: "Error connecting to the internet".
There is no problem with my browser, my connection is fine for everything but this game.
I am running an HP model p6710f with Windows 7 64 bit. Integrated graphics using ATI Radeon 4200.

I don't remember where I bought this, probably from the now-defunct Direct2Drive, and it is not appearing in my list of Gamefly games, and Gamefly support is practically nonexistent.

UPDATE: As I suspected, this is definately a Direct2Drive download. They no longer exist, bought out
by the evil GameFly company

I first thought ActiveMark was some sort of Malware, that's why I gave you a link on how to remove it.

Seems like it is a company though, and that you're not the only one who has problems.

Google links towards the FAQ of ActiveMark, and, ActiveMark has a support that can be found here.

It basically shows, that you have to invest some work yourself and Google your way to the solution, or, write to the support of ActiveMark, as you bought Civ4 from them?

Posting the details of your system in this forum is not likely to produce help imo. This forum is named "Strategy and Tips" , your question has to do neither with Strategies, nor Tips.

Regards, Sera

Maybe a kindly mod could move the thread to technical support which seems more useful.
