No interaction with the aliens

Hi.

Can someone help me, I just got to alpha centaury and I can't interact with the alien civ, they don't even show up in the diplomacy screen along with the other civs.

I have civ chronicles and already installed both patches TOTPP and the 1.1, so don't know what to do...

Sorry, I only use Test of Time for scenario building with Lua. I don't know the answer to your question, and I'm probably not the only one in this situation.

@Rui_TNV Are you playing the "Extended Original" game? If you open up the Events.txt file in the ExtendedOriginal folder, you'll see that lines 49-95 deal with this issue. It looks to me like negotiations between humans and aliens are blocked until the discovery of tech 63 ("Ultrastring Theory"). I'm not an expert in the macro event language, but that's what the comments in the file seem to say.
