No Scandinavia

How can I delete Scandinavia from the game? CivIII locks up with anything Scandinavian. If I click on it during setup Civ locks up and has to be shut down. If Scandinavia is a civ in a game, as soon as their is contact the game locks up. In short anything Scandinavian will end the game. Therefore I would like to eliminate Scandinavia from the game if possible. If not, it's goodbye CivIII.

You cannot delete them without the game suffering problems.

What you *can* do is either (a) try reinstalling or (b) not include them in your games. When you start a game, on the Player Setup Screen, choose your opponents so that Scandinavia isn't in the game.

Or what you could do, if you're not concerned with having Hall of Fame scores recorded and city-view/palace-view going away, is making a mod.

This one will be real easy.

Open the editor. Click on Scenario, select Custom Rule, and say 'ok' to the pop up dialog box.

Click on Scenario again, and select Scenario Properties. On the top part of the box, near the right-center, is a box called 'Playable Civilizations' Find Scandinavia. Hold down the control key, and select Scandinavia. This should leave all the civs selected except for Scandinavia.

Close the box, save the scenario. Save it as whatever you want.

Open Conquests, and select Civ-Content. Scroll through the list until you find the file that you saved the No Scandinavia under.

They won't be in the game anymore. Like I said, tho, since it's a scenario you won't be able to record HoF scores, nor will you see your city-view or palace-view.

Thanks, Turner. I was looking at the editor last night and wondering if I could do just what you suggested. I'll try it.
