No support for 1920x1200 screen res?

The best I could get is 1680x1050, at witch the display aspect ratio is 16:10 wide screen. Otherwise I'd be playing at 1600x1200 that leaves 2 black bars on both sides. Is there anything to tweak to get the 1920x1200 res? What a disappointment.

I was able to choose 1920x1200 in the options menu. The number of options you have there depends on your video card drivers. Try installing the latest ones and see if it helps.

you can try manually forcing the resolution by doing the following:

1) Browse to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 (or the root directory of your Civ4 install)
2) Double Click _Civ4Config -- this brings up the primary CivilizationIV.ini file.
3) Find and change ScreenHeight from 0, to 1200
4) Find and change ScreenWidth from 0, to 1920
5) Save and exit
6) Restart Civ4.

If this does not work, then your video card is incapable of running 1600x1200 in the required color depth for Civ4...

I too was able to choose 1900x1200. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon x600.

Looks great on a 7800GT, I play in 1600x1200, happy with that

My bad. I was able to play at 1920x1200 on my 2nd PC. Then I went back to the problematic 1st PC and found the 1920x1200 option. I guess I just didn't scroll all the way down the first time. Thanks for your help.

PC 1

Dell 8300/P4 2.8G/1G/128MB Radeon 9800 Pro

PC 2

Dell SC400/P4 3.0G/1G/128MB GeForce 6600 GT

Monitor: Sony GDM-FW900 brought on eBay @225, connected to both PC through a KVM.

The game runs smoothly on both machines at 1920x1200 with 4x AA, and every graphics options set to "High". Of course I only have 2 units, don't know if I'll have to lower the settings at later stages.
