No terrain etc.

Hello. I bought civ4 like 3 months ago and its been doing it forever but i got fed up with it today. The terrain does not show up just balckness. Also the face of the other rulers just shows up as eyes and mouth sometimes hat. The terrain is really annoying me so if anyone can reconize it please help me.

It could be below spec hardware/driver problems - but more likely you loaded V1 out of the box - thats a classic V1 symptom of the memory management hassles they had. V1.52 sorted many memory / graphics problems and its a must have Patch. Link to the download is at the top of the Site Home page.

If you have already loaded V1.52, and still have issues, please post dxdiag as an attachment using the 'go advanced' button below so we can take a look at what you have.

Welcome to CivFanatics!!!

I would suggest you start by reading through the posts in this forum (Technical Support). You will most likely run across someone else with the exact same problem that has already been solved.

Without knowing anything else, the chances are likely that you either have a graphics card that is not supported by Civ4, or your graphics drivers are in need of updating. Post your system specs if you would like further help.

k im getting the patch so while im waiting ill just give ya my specs.

AMD Athalon 3000+
UniCrome ingrated graphics 64 mg shared
512 megabytes RAM
CD-ROM/DVD-R drive

i cant think of anything else you'd wanna know

S3G UniChrome doesn't support T&L, you need a graphics card that does.
