What makes it worth the money over Notepad++? Im looking at the features, and it seems that many of the things it can do, Notepad++ ( which is free) can too. I might be wrong here though.

Column mode, its scripting capabilities and projects are enough to sell me. Doesn't hurt that it's also a hex editor, the UltraCompare program that ships free with it is sometimes a lifesaver, and it's one of the few editors I've seen that can reliably handle massive (several hundred MB+) files. YMMV of course.
Best $60 I ever spent.$60 for MS Office Ultimate 2007. (if you're a student)![]()
Is MS Office really worth it? I'm using OpenOffice, and I've found that it does most of the things I need to do exactly the same. I haven't really used it to write long documents and such though (LaTeX does that job for me), but for the casual reading of .docs and doing some quick calculations with spreadsheets, it works surprisingly well.
My favourite version![]()
OneNote is pretty awesome as well. But, I wouldn't pay $300 for Office Ultimate. It was well worth the $60 for me, I use Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Access extensively.
If openoffice.org does everything you need, probably not worth paying for MS office though.
muTorent? I've never heard of that one. Neither has google.![]()

And I thought GIMP was open-source, as well as Firefox and Thunderbird.
Edit: And 7-Zip. And VLC.
