This brings us to American Empire, the America MOD Challenge.

It's a simple challenge really, just build America.

I ask you to do now more than to play as the Union and, using them, build America. Take over all of the present day United States.

This includes:

The Continental States
Alaska
Hawaii
Puerto Rico

It would be easier on a smaller map, but this requires almost constant wars against nations ranging from the Confederacy to the Russians in Alaska and likely even the Cubans over Puerto Rico.

Still too easy?

Take over no more land. I won't mind a few cultural blips passing past present day US borders, but any entrants who take over, for instance, Canada, or even the land between the Continental states and Alaska you will be disqualified.

The winner is the player with the biggest score and/or the most accurate borders.

If you are a member of CDG or wish to become one you may sign up and post you .sav and pic Here If not, feel free to post your entry on this thread.

I think the Confederates should be Militaristic. Most of the commanders in the Mexican War were from the South, and the society was marked by its devotion to military duty. Plus, the Southern armies often displayed higher skill than their Northern counterparts throughout the early Civil War.

I think it would be better than Industrialist... the South had few factories to speak of during and before the civil war, and the Confederate cities were not highly productive. Their society was much more focused on plantation agriculture and cotton farming (i.e. cash crops and trade, translating nicely into the Commercial trait instead of Aggricultural).

So making the south a proud, martial society I think is better than one that builds roads faster.

What happened to the Bear Flag Republic of California! They should be included, someone has already created a mod with the civ so you could just copy that. It wouldn't be too difficult.

seems cool, but shouldn't the Confederacy government use forced labor?

pr maybe there should be a Slave unit that is like a worker but requires no matinence and can't build forts(or something like that) and costs 20 shields. it should also only be able to be built in the Confederacy government.

the Wild West should be re-named California, since that is where they start(and California is not traditionally in the 'Wild West'). if you do this, then California's leader should be named William B. Ide, leader of the Republic of California(it existed only for a month).

Yeah there's a few mistakes here and there within the scenario but all in all it was a great idea and a good scenario.

uh your not suppose to bump up old threads. members here don't really like it when people do that.

Known problems:

Governor Charles Bayley was not a woman.
Hudson Bay Company referred to as English still (Don't have alternate)
Hudson bay, Deseret colors overlap, i know this isn't too big but it bothers me.

If any of you get around to d/loading or playing my mod let me know any more.

Looking at the map, i'm confused as to who's who. Canada is in there, though many colors share the territory. Also, is this supposed to be Québec or New-France, for ir is smaller than New France, and looks bigger than Québec.

Is man-o-war really appropriate for Hudsay bay co.? I don't think it had a military, it was a commercial company that traded furs. Anyways, i'll DL later... looks interesting...
(Edit: I thought this was old, but it was only now i realsied how old... Hey, it the 5th of 8 i on the search i did...)
