For some reason I can't upload this as my avatar:

SpikeLeaving.jpg

Why not? Its a cool avatar too, I want to use it...

EDIT: I can't paste that link as my avatar either. What's up with this? Do I have something wrong with my username or something...?

Are you sure it's under the size limit (as in file size, not length/width)?

And even if it's an acceptable size, try converting it to .gif anyway and see if that works.

I converted it too a .gif but there are all these ugly splotches in the white part.

I'll check on the size limit. But usually I get a message like "Its over the size limit" not "Its not a valid .gif".

Perhaps Thunderfall secretly doesn't want you to get a new avatar. Maybe he loves you too much the way you are; after all, he's already ignored your name-change requests. :hmm:

How can I reduce that without getting an ugly .gif?

EDIT: The reason its probably so huge is that its compressed from an 800x600 (or so) file. I usually crop my avatars. How can I fix this?

@ Skullbones: Thanks, but it says its too big. How do you get your .gif to look so good anyway? Mine always comes out that non-solid colors (like the mix of white and grey on the window) come out terrible...

I'm not sure why you can't link to the uploaded version. You should be able to, even if it is too big (in size), shouldn't you(of course, that would defeat the system of size limit)?

I uploaded the .gif. Its not perfect, but I want it.

Now if only someone could help me get a properly looking .gif or .jpg I'd be even happier...

This one's a .gif but it's 4.21k

I dunno how I got it to look like that. I used Photoshop and just saved it as a .gif and jpeg
