Not upgrading to mithril, cant see why not

I have mithril working and mithril weapons. I have a mithril mine that has a route, and units that can use mithril weapons, yet they remain on iron.
What more do I need to do?

Are the units in a city? They have to be in a city to be in a city to upgrade.

I don't understand. I looked at your savegame and your drowns and swordsmen have mithril weapons. What other units are you expecting to upgrade?

Haven't looked at the savegame, but thought I'd just list everything I remember that can use Mithril:
Melee: Axemen/Swordsmen, Champions, Immortals, Berserkers, Phalanx
Mounted: Chariots, War Chariots, Knights
Other: Drowns, Stygian Guards

Units upgrade to Mithril Weapons when you first hook up a source of mithril, if they're in a city at the start of the turn or when they first move into a city with access to mithril. Built units that can will upgrade when they're created, but units created through Recruit need to move out of and back into the city to get it.

Well that considerably weakens the Caminus Aureous, then. I mean, it's still a gret wonder, it's just not quite the level I thought it was.

Weapons used to have building requirments, but in the past several versions only the resource is required. I was (and still am) opposed to this change. Weapon promotions should at least have tech requirements.

Looks like I was confused. Either I didnt get the huge spam of "unit upgrade" messages, or it didnt happen when I finished researching mithril weapons.

Not sure how I figured strength 7(+1) drown were anything but mithril. doh.

Maybe you looked at warriors and/or archery units, which cannot get this promotion.

That's because unlike Bronze and Iron, the same tech reveals and connects Mithril (Mithril Working). Mithril Weapons is just for Phalanxes.
