The American civ tends to have a lack of uranium deposits in its own borders.

Current game I'm having as them brought this to my attention when I realized that not only is the closest deposit of aluminium half a continent away, but the nearest deposit of green goodness sits to the south in a runaway-allied CS.

Last game I remembered having Washington drawn into the modern age had him on a continent with zero uranium.

First game as America... I had to fight my way to neighboring landbridge connected Aztec-continento to grab that uranium.

Clearly this game is biased towards the one and only Freedom civ.

Hmm, maybe it's because as an AI America never survives into the modern era or, if it does, is relevant enough for it to matter, so it calculates that Americans don't need uranium? :)

Nah, I lied. There was this Pangea game where communist Rome and democratic America were the two runaways to come up on top. I remembered the glow-in-the-dark spectacle of their mutual borders, and the eerie orange glow of occupied Hanoi in Washington's oyster.

But fact remains America is being biased against in most of my games!:(

(okay, at least this recent continent had plenty of oil to go around for B17s)

Nah its not biased. It just tries to balance things. We all know what happens when americans get the bomb. Boom!:) Twice!:)

Hmm, I have that too, on my current game playing as the US, I’ve had attack and take over several city states as well as make several new towns just to get my hands on aluminium. I usually don’t have much aluminium in my area, but within a few decades of researching it, my empire has a lot. I do try to mix up my social policies but my lack of resources forces me to go to autocracy just so I can defend myself.

I concur, in my most recent fight against America there were only two deposits of uranium on the whole map (for a total of 8) and they were respectively 4 and 6 hexes away from America's capital.
