Hello, i got into a strange situation last night, playing against Alexander on immortal/quick. He was building (atleast) one nuclear missile per turn and firing them from about 1930.
It turns out that cities actually just get destoryed if their nuked too much, this screenshot shows what the battlefield looked like on the turn i completed a science victory in 1983.

All that orange stuff is nuclear fall out and you can see the ruins of 5 cities that had died on previous turns. The german civilization was actually destoryed when Alexander nuked his last city into rubble!
This is only really the 2nd time that ive had a prolonged war in the mordern era with a strong ai, perviously i fought Hiawatha on a continents map and he built an infinate number of paratroopers, artillary and guided missiles

Alexander was definatly easier to deal with as his only supporting units where aeroplanes and a few mobil SAM's, im just lucky that he wasnt close enough to nuke my main cities as there was absloutly nothing i could do to prevent the nukes, even with anti air. i didnt even have any urainium of my own to nuke back with!
