Ok, so I get back from a year abroad, and I sit at my desktop thinking trying to play a few games I enjoyed prior to my year abroad.

And I've finally realised that the reason they keep crashing might have something to do with two things: Dust, Drivers.

Any other ideas?

Anyway, what I want to ask is that, are the Nvidia Geforce 7 series (I have 7600 GS, on XP), are they really at driver version 178? Cause my last driver is 6.14 :crazyeye: , not knowing TOO much about this type of thing, I was wondering if anyone could tell me that the drivers have changed this much in (2 years? max? Can't remember, I know I was pretty religious in downloading new drivers at the start but this is just weird....)

DLL version doesn't really mean a thing. XP drivers have 6.14 and Vista drivers have 7.15. The last 4 numbers are usually the only ones that change between releases, but even those aren't the same as Forceware/Catalyst version numbers. The "real" version number can be found in Nvidia control center or whatever it's called

Don't ignore the other drivers while you're at it. I've had crashes cured by updating sound and network card drivers too.
