Here's what I am running. Pentium Duel Core EE with 2 gigs of RAM and an nVidia Leadtech 7800GTX. Here's the problem, if I zoom out to where you can see clouds I get earth colored lines across the screen. I can still see all of the cities and anything that has been revealed but I can't seem to get rid of the lines. I just downloaded the latest nVidia driver but it was no help. Any ideas? Thank You for you help!:(

You must be like the 10th person I've seen with that same problem. There is a solution. I'm sure I'll need it soon too.

Let me guess you're playing a huge map with many civs right?

OK.. just in case anyone else reads this thread, I've posted a thread with the fix in it. It's a very simple fix. Either you can roll back to 70 series drivers (such as teh 78.05s) or go forward to the new 81.89 betas. The globe bug is just an 81.8x (pre 9) driver bug from what I can see. I'm pretty sure Civ is not to blame here. The thread in which I've posted a link to the 81.89s is here.

(As a note - I've not exhaustively tested the 81.89s, but the globe bug was pretty constant, and I tested it under two quick conditions, and have confirmation from someone else that it's also fixed for them.

Just downloaded the beta driver and it was no help. I'm running large map with 6 civs. I just got the game and am working on some strategy before I go nuts on it:) Anyway, what's the solution BAST? I'm running everthing at the top end. 4x and super graphics for all. I figured the card could handle it.

I rolled back my drivers to 70's and I have horrible games freezes and a little lag but nothing compaired to the horroa I had before I rolled back my Nividia drivers.. oh and BTW 2kgames has no idea that Nvidia users are having problems. They just wrote me back saying that no one has informed them on any Nvidia problems :( Well they know now.

That was the solution I heard of before. I'm using 77.50 driver now, and so far no problems but I haven't played on the huge map.

I too am having that problem, but it seems to have got worse as now the game is hanging and I am just getting a black screen which means I have to reset. Anyone had a similar problem and if so do they know how I can fix it. I have tried various driver versions and I am currently on 77.77.
