Personally, I'd say that it's time for liberals to get tough, but perhaps this isn't the right formula. The guy (Hevesi) is a liberal?

There's a difference between "getting tough" and making a remarkably silly comment like this.

Hevesi is a Democrat. When he ran for Mayor of New York City in 2001, he lost in the primary (didn't make the run-off either) and ran for mayor on the Liberal party line after that, I believe.
