Ok, this is the wrong forum but oh well.

I've recently installed TES Oblivion onto my new PC, everything is fine except some of the sounds seem to be missing. I don't get the chinking sound when I'm lock picking, or the sound when I open a container, or hear the voices when I talk to people. This is really strange because probably a few months ago my dad played Oblivion on the same computer with the same disk and AFAIK there were no problems, I've tried fiddling around with the Audio controls, nothing. I've tried un/reinstalling it, nothing. Its really getting on my nerves having to read subtitles so any help would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks, Kol.

Try the latest patch maybe? I just started playing it again. Great game.

Maybe you have too many audio channels or something. I never really bothered with the audio but in WoW if I put too many channels, I won't get sound.

I'll take a look when I get home. Otherwise check to see if your audio drivers are up to date.

Thanks for advice.

I don't think I need a patch, it worked fine before and I didn't have a patch then. I'll have a look at the audio channels.

could uninstall and then do a search through your files for anything oblivion related

Ok, problem solved. The wire was in the wrong socket  I'm such an idiot sometimes lol.

Thanks for the help everyone.
