Hi, I'm just about to reenter the world of Oblivion! Great game!:)

But... I want to load MMM (Martigen's Monster Mod) with OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul) and so I also got the MMM-OOO unity mod .

Do I install the big mod and then the small mod (it doesn't say) - I am guessing so but I don't want Oblivion to blow up or whatever...

It should be in the readme.

I've only used OOO before but... I'd install MMM then OOO, and then use the Unity mod. This is because (from what I recall) MMM changes loot lists and creatures/NPCs only, whereas OOO will change ALOT of gameplay features. So to keep things in line with balance, you'd want the OOO changes to take effect on anything both mods happen to change.

But then again it's probably only an issue of .esp load order, I doubt there'd be many file conflicts, so 'installing' order isn't a problem. You should use OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) to set the load order. You'd want the OOO .esp load after MMM.

EDIT: Ugh, I just read the readme on the unity mod and there seem to be too many disclaimers for my liking... :P

I'm happy with OOO on it's own.:goodjob:

*bump*

I'm about to get the GOTY version of Oblivion (only $20 on Newegg).

Any recommended mods?

crowded roads and thief tools are both rather fun

Crowded enough to start a riot on one end of Cyrodil and watch it spread to the other end of Cyrodil? :)

That would be an interesting mod if one were able to pull it off with all of the NPCs going from city to city... It wouldn't be that hard to trigger, either...

Gaurd sees deer.
Gaurd shoots arrow at deer.
Traveling villager gets caught in the crossfire.
Villager attacks Gaurd.
More villagers come to the rescue.
Wizard casts a spell that winds up hiting another villager.
Riot spreads...

Anyone want me to send you a 3+ gigabyte folder of mods? May or may not be up to date.

The Unofficial Patches look quite nice, I havn't installed them yet, as I only recently managed to install oblivion (I had to uninstall it manually as it had really screwed up) and am slowly downloading all the mods I want again.

Haha I don't want 3 Gigs in my email, thanx.

Thanks for the links! I'm hoping to mod it up for role-playing gameplay to do more fun stuff.

http://www.tesnexus.com the only site I really use for mods.

You can browse via categories and tags to find mods of your liking. Although there's far too many good mods out there to recommend them all, here's a fairly basic summary video I made a while ago of mods I use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTC42uDPNlk

It's a little dated now though and some mods have been replaced by slightly better ones (in my opinion).

'DarNified UI' is preferred over 'Immersive Interface'
'Atmospheric Weather' over 'Natural Environments'

Also, you might want to give OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul) a try. I detest Oblivion without it. It's as the name implies, a massive overhaul of the mechanics behind oblivion among other things. Highly recommended.

Also, you MUST use Oblivion Mod Manager: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097

Opting not to will make uninstalling mods a living hell. It's an awesome program to keep your install of oblivion and mods orderly.
