What do you think about this new game? Do you think it will be better on Xbox360 or Playstation 3? My PC is not powerful enough to play it, so I am waiting for Playstation 3.

Wait until you upgrade your PC instead, that's what I would do.... Playing rpgs on a console....Bah

First off its Elder Scrolls IV not "Morrowind 2". I'm sorry that just bugs me. Also, the game won't be coming out on Playstation 3. The game developers have confirmed this. The game will be indentical on Xbox 360 and PC (aside from the INCREDIBLE mods that the PC version will eventually have).

wikipedia says it's coming out for Playstation 3

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_games

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - 2K Games/Bethesda Softworks"

Are you saying wikipedia is wrong?

The game developers have confirmed this.

Are you sure? Is this a rumor you heard or do you have a reliable source that says this like a post from a game developer or something on the official website or from a game magazine (like ign), etc.

I know it hasn't been official confirmed for Playstation 3 ... are you just saying it hasn't yet been confirmed for PS3 or that it's actually been confirmed that it won't ever be on PS3.

The game will be indentical on Xbox 360 and PC (aside from the INCREDIBLE mods that the PC version will eventually have).

I'm actually keen on waiting for some mods based on the original Morrowind plus expansions as well as mods based on Dungeon Siege. The Dungeon Siege mod says you need to have Ultima V installed ... would that mean the installer actually checks to see if you have Ultima V installed .. that would be stupid.

That's why I'm not buying more PC games except those that aren't graphics intensive (like Civ 4). You have to upgrade so often in order to play the latest games. But with consoles you don't have to upgrade. My understanding was that the gameplay will be identical for the console version and PC version so I don't think playing on the console will be a problem :) My TV is bigger than my computer monitor and also I get to sit in a more comfortable seating ;)

I don't believe that oblivion will be released for the PS3. AS for what I think of It, in 1 years time, it will be our new god ;)

Can't wait for it.

I wouldn't reccomend to buy the console version. What made Morrowind great were the mods and the only worked on the PC

Funny thing is that I am STILL waiting for the Morrowind mod (remake of Ultima 9, total conversion mod) to come out! It looks like it will come out well AFTER Oblivion is released ... so the mods are not much of an issue for me since by the time they are out, the next Elder Scrolls will be out too :) Are you talking about the plug ins? They are cool, true. I wonder if you would be able to have the plug ins for Oblivion on PS3 or Xbox360? If they have harddrives you might be able to download it.

I was able to get the definitive word on release for PS3

The game will also be released on the next-gen consoles. Could you tell us which consoles and why these consoles? Is the game exactly the same?

Right now we are announced for PC and Xbox 360. We haven’t announced any other consoles at this time. Our generally philosophy is that we want as many people to play our games as possible and will consider any platform that can support our game. Other than the interface, the game content is identical.

They've said in the past that while game content is same, that graphically it may look different so I expect it to be released on the PS3 (since it can clearly support the game) and I expect it to be graphically better :)

On the official Oblivion forum a moderator said:

Considering all these things, I would be quite surprised if it's not released for the PS3. Morrowind was a big hit on the consoles, and it's obvious that Bethsoft wants to expand the console market to make more money.

PS3 is expected to be sold well under manufacturing cost, so it's going to be a great bargain.

I am really looking forward to this. It's making me think about reprioritizing my life, considering the amount of time I could end up wasting playing it. :satan:

Yeah just upgrade your PC so you can mod Oblivion. You could mod the XBox version but its extremely difficult and very tedious.

And how, leonel, would someone go about, say, writing something in to the program of Morrowind of the XBOX to make it crash :mischief:

Only so that people would have to buy better consoles, say... Gamecubes! :)

Sorry for the bump, but I just noticed how many people still think this will be on PS3.

There is your confirmation. Have a nice day!

I knew about that already. Everyone knows about that. AFTER that was ALREADY there, a moderator at the OFFFICIAL forums linked to from THAT VERY WEBSITE, said that he would be very surprised if it wasn't released for PS3. They've clarified that they've announced for Xbox360 and PC but that this does NOT mean they won't release on any other platforms. People who are spreading that rumor probably work for Microsoft!

I already linked the statement on the official forums which clarifies this.

If it's only a few months from release, they ussually don't announce release for another console.

YAY!

Oblivion's out *in a few months*

Dose anyone know if it will run on a MX440 ?

And what, pray tell, is a MX440?
If it's a type of computer that was made in the lats 2 years, It should be able to run Oblivion.

From what I can tell, theres only two things wrong with this game. No throwing weapons and no crossbows. They totally redid ranged combat and appearntly putting everytihng in to make the bow and arrows realistic was to much
