OCC: how do you deal with the AP resolutions?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying an OCC for the first time, I'm playing Emperor difficulty, Pangaea map, Peter from Russia (I'm going for a space ship victory). Standard speed, normal size.

On my first game I had to challenge an AP resolution against my main ally, and I got that 5 anger penalty that heart me a lot (20 turns, I think, the "the world considers you are a villain" thing). Eventually I got invaded due to other factors, but that one didn't help at all.

On my 2nd game I was doing much better (though had to stay without a religion to stay at pleased with everyone) and I even managed to provoke some wars against the 2 leading CIVs. However, an AP resolution forced me to stop trading with my neighbor (Gilgamesh), so he stopped talking to me and about 6 turns later he invaded. I guess I should have challenged the resolution, but those 5 angry people for 20 turns would have made a huge hit to my economy.

So, if the AP owner spreads their religion to your city, how do you handle diplomacy? I guess trying to get some extra happiness "just in case" is the only way? It feels like a waste of resources to start building temples. Any thoughts?

In OCC all you need to do is build the Globe Theatre and you can defy every single resolution that is proposed and never have any issues as the GT eliminates all unhappiness!

Ah, good point. I gues I should research Drama earlier then. Thanks.

Yep, remember in OCC you get 5 national wonders. Usually Oxford, National Epic, and Globe are the top 3 for me. Then the rest are dependant upon my victory I'm shooting for.
