Offline Multiplayer?

Is there a way for my roommate and I to play a multiplayer game when we are not connected to the internet? What would I need?

Two ways: You could PBEM(Play By EMail), but you don't really need email to do it. When you're done with your turn, you send the turn to your opponet. This can be done via Email, IM, FTP, or putting the file on a floppy disc and throwing it at your opponet. Although the larger games you'd need a high capacity drive for.

You could also do HotSeat, where you take a turn, get up when your turn is over, and your opponet sits down and does their turn.
