Not everything is rock&roll or disco, hiphop or whatever music you prefer.
I'm the guy that finds good stuff in every type of music, I won't like it all, but there is still something within one song, that attracts you. So if I like one song from one genre I usually stay away from, it means this music is cool. One song can make the difference and then I won't have to like the rest. But THAT song was great.
Like Enimen, I never liked anything in area, now I love a couple of songs of him and can stand the most. If that had been my father, he would've thrown the radio or whatever out the window. This was just an example.
I have a mate at work, soon turning 60 who used to be a singer in a R&R-band for 30 years, and mind you he still sings like a lark. He backed out on a new gig, because the group wanted to play more "new essential music", whatever that means..
We talk about music everyday, I played the guitar for 25 odd years, trained myself to classical and with no friends that shared my joy, I quit. I won't take up the guitar again ever, but I want to sway Rudy's mind about music.
As I said, I listen to everything and then make a decision, is this good or bad. Music never fails, there's always something good in any little corner of the music-world.
So enough with the rambling, I'm scouting musicians not worldly known (or maybe had a hit somewhere), which will teach me a lot more about the music in this world, and finally I will take the 12 best songs and burn it to Rudy. We're not talking UK or US now, countries out there with great musicians.
I can only think of one song right now, that I love so much. African born from Guinea, Mory Kante's song: Yeke yeke is still one of my all time favourites.

I'm missing a SaudiArabian guy, that made a great song a few years back, can anyone find him?
Also looking for the original song for the Maracana-stadium in Brazil, great song!
Do you have anything to show me, I will happily check it out.
I want music that's not EURO/UK/US-traditional, even Georgian folkmusic could do, if it has the rhytm. Or maybe Cajun-music, I can't find any good links there though.
Just throw your hat in, it might be the next music I never experienced!
