Okay, the AI is stupid, but I never knew it was THIS stupid.

Pfeffersack, I noticed the same thing in my game.

Notice the multinational blockade (AI's are doing it, not me) of the hated Spanish in their last city. That blockade got in my way too when it came time to ship out all those troops attacking (I'm the British). Finally the AI is smartening up. I also notice the AI uses ships to block waterway bottlenecks like the English Channel and around Denmark. I have to use privateers to remove the plugs.

Yes i think they really are blocking the routes, also coz they might know that any ships in port are weaker and instant death when city is captured.

I've seen it too, in a mild form, but never as big as this...

Are you at war with them? They are either blockading or they are just going to attack everything going in or coming out. That would be a pretty good strategy.

rhikdavis, everyone is at war with Spain and uneasy friends with each other. I don't like dogpiles but was the first one to go to war with Spain. The bullies freaked on me when a ship through their seaspace and so I responded by demanding they remove their forces from my territory too so they declared war. That kind of arrogance deserves extinction on my scoreboard.

Ah sorry... about the blockade ... they are definitely blocking the routes to prevent passage because no one is at war now (a short breather until the next rumble). I have pictures of both the English Channel blockage by the Dutch (7 turns for me to go around England !!) and the Denmark blockage by the Russians preventing me from sailing around to my buddies the Swedes. So if you want to see the pictures let me know and I'll post them here.
