It makes me sick that all people care about to day is graphics. IT could have some of the best graphics in the world, but would have horrible design and gameplay. There are alot of great old games for the NES and SNES, and even Playstation 1. Everyone is forgetting the great games, like Final Fantasy I-VI and chrono trigger which introduced the Active Time Bars to Final Fantasy. Tere ar so many games that are a thousand times better in gameplay thean all the neew games but theey lack in graphics. For example Final Fantasy VII is the best Final Fantasy ever, it only inferiority to the newer ones like VIII, IX, X, and X-2. Also people have forgotten one of Blizzards first games, Blackthorne, which was a wonderful game. Also Eartound was also a fun game. There are also thousands of forgotten games it ust makes me sad. :(

Nah, they're not forgotten. You'll still get the occasional loser that plays 'em ;)
There's 2 old games that I still think are great. 'Transport Tycoon' and 'Blood and Magic'. Both games' graphics are pretty bad, yet I still find them really fun :)

Civ 2! :yeah: ;)

Or even I.

I think some old games are awesome, like Super Mario where you could play the two- player match in one screen... and tetris.

Too bad I'm so young I never had the chance to play those games when they were even a little new... and now it's hard to get them. Duh.

I guess I'm one of those few players who don't appreciate graphics over content or gameplay. (You're not alone Lord Draegon ;) ) I often play games like Alpha Centauri, Transport Tycoon Deluxe or even Simcity 2000. I'm also very reluctant to buying new hardware just because the developers didn't bother to optimize their new games. :yeah:

I just love the music from Doom, hope they get the same guys that did that to make the music for Doom 3.

About a year ago I was playing Doom and Dungeon Master(old game made for an Atari computer). Still got the boxes and manuals for Railroad Tycoon and Silent Service 2. I would still be playing Transport Tycoon(Deluxe) and X-Com 1&2 if I had a computer capable of running them. Weird how the latest computers can't run the old computer games but can run the really old computer games.

Are you using Windows XP? I know there's a version of TTD available which works on Win XP. Also remember to install the TTD patch, it improves dozens of things. :)

Final Fantasy VII is considered by the vast majority people to be not only the best FF, but the best GAME ever. I would hardly called that old and forgotten.

But for the most part, I agree. I look at the Gameboy Advance, which for the most part is like a handheld SNES, with the cute sprites and whatnot, and feel that those graphics hold up just as well as the current-gen graphics. At least I know Nintendo's going on the right track, Iwata stated that the time when graphical power alone makes a console is over.

I prefer games with a solid story and gameplay over graphics anytime. Graphics aren't everthing, just unfortunate some people think that. :(

From what I hear, the best ff is generally considered to be either ff6 or ff7, depending on who you ask.

I play the oldest games still regulary. Paratrooper for example. Alley Cat...

And of course Doom. ;) Still Doom...

No its VII

I play a game, it's not old, but the graphics are not much good called Steel Panthers World At War. It's a WWII turn based strategy game, freely downloadable. Look it up on google.

Well, I think you just kind of contradicted your original statement in this topic.

Ever played Sunset Riders on SNES? It was awesome still at some arcades it's so good. It's at my local roller rink, which only has 10 games or less. It's really fun prob on some emulator out there. I agree with draegon though. Graphics dont mean squat to the gameplay.

I still play Wolfensteinstein 3d, simant, and simcity 2000; they are some the greatest games I ever played.
Of coarse, Final Fantasy 7 is IMO the greatest Final Fantasy.

Yes, good game, it's not too old itself, but the game it's based on, Steel Panthers 3, is getting on a bit these days. There's a similar game by another group of fans, called Steel Panthers:World War II that's also free.

One old game I still often play is Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which has tons of user made scenarios available for download.
