I've been playing in and old school pbem game for several months now and am liking it greatly.
The game is called TribeNet. It has been around in several incarnations since 1984. The game has similarities to Civilization an aspects of Diplomacy. It first grew out of the Diplomacy community in Melbourne, Australia.
You start with one hunter-gatherer tribe. Like Civilization, you know little about your surroundings so your first objective is to explore. You gain skills and resources each turn that give you the ability to accomplish your goals. Eventually you will build villages and begin producing the goods that you need.
If this sounds interesting and you think you might like to join, then email the GM at peter.rzechorzek@optusnet.com.au
Hope to see you there.
