Old World expansion: Heroes Of The Agean

IGN has just put out the announcement trailer for Old World's new expansion "Heroes Of The Agean"!

The new expansion will include 6 new historical scenarios, and introduces more interesting personalities like Leonidas. Apparently the expansion will be for free for the first 2 weeks! So get Old World now!

Great news!

I do hope the expansion pack add content to the main part of the game though, not just through scenarios. Will Leonidas et al. be alternative starting leaders for Greece? Is there no info about the new civilisation yet?

Also, will the expansion pack be free for people who own the game on Epic?

It's both.
May 19th is the announced date for the release on Steam/GoG, and of the Heroes of the Agean DLC on all three platforms.

I don't think that's explicitly stated anywhere, but I would assume it's two weeks starting from the release date. I might be misunderstanding your question, but it wouldn't make much sense to offer it for free so long as you buy it when you can't buy it yet ;-)

With such a focus on big battles between Persia and Greece it is a shame there appears to be no new art for the units. Persia is still using the Hellenic looking spearmen at Marathon I would have loved to see some Sparabara style reskin for spearman.
