Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

Congratulations to Romans!

Warsaw has been annexed into Egypt. Since Songhai is at permanent war against Warsaw, they should be indifferent to this event?

The Songhai would like to note that the Egyptians have gotten everything they demanded first in Askia leaving Warsaw alone and then in taking it over themselves with no interference. The Songhai are a peaceful nation wishing only to continue to build our religious buildings and be left alone by the wars in the North. We note that our army remains the largest in the land and will not hesitate to use it if necessary to defend our interests, but for the time being, those interests are to recuperate from the Songhai civil war.

:wallbash:

Peace? Monty got insane and decided to sacrifice his troops! I will fight until last breath(and i don't want to stick around this game much longer with a weak civ).

Russians need reparations for the easy peace deal from the AI. I will give him my non capital city in exchange of half the iron stocked underneath.

And now Onan got the GW...gl for the other civs into this bloody but fun adventure.

Askia regrets the passing of Monty the insane, and notes that now that the Romans hold 3 capitols under theirs way, perhaps their bloodlust will be satiated. Fortunately, the Great Wall is only useful until the invention of artillery which the Egyptians are well on the way to finding.

Sorry Tab, I think I went too far into role playing in this game and became paranoid into propaganda that may lead to others gang up on you in the early game. I should be the one to blame for your loss in this game. It's mostly because you're such a good player that it takes more than myself to compete with you alone. I had most fun when I joined the MP community half a year ago with you guys, but I realised I probably was not considerate in my wording that may not be comfortable to other player's feelings, so I apologize to others as well in the meantime.:(

Anyway, we are greatly impressed by the bravery of Aztec warriors :goodjob:

Crazy old Pharaoh, apologising to players when he hasn't really had a war with anyone this game. And revising history, at that! Need I remind you that the Aztecs chose, of their own accord, to DoW two of their neighbours early? Then they conquered the central CS of Dublin. They then aggressively attempted to takeover Indian territory on our border, declaring war on us!

All Roman actions have been in the interests of justice, peace and security. Blood is never sought, only used as a last resort when other messages fail to be understood.

(I've never found any of your messages offensive, EEE, not to worry.)

Nah I am ok with it. I have 2 more afk's in August so any AI silliness is my own fault. I do believe the early war was a big setback for both of us.

Early war is always a setback, unless of course it's a total victory. If Monty had focussed all his efforts on you, and taken you over completely, this would've been a very different game. You have your Chinese Russian cousins to thank for at least distracting the Aztecs enough to allow you to survive in reasonable shape, for which they paid a heavy price.

Re bloodlust, refer above to turning back aggression.

Have you actually seen the great wall stop working? Because I've played many a game where the move restriction on enemies continued well after dynamite was discovered--including vs you as Sweden, I believe.

Pax Romana has been achieved. Caesar now seeks only the fruits of peace.

OOC: I believe that you are thinking of games where you had dynamite but the opponent that owns the Great Wall does not. The Great Wall obsoletes when the owner of it researches dynamite. In the Sweden game, I delayed the Dynamite/Railroad path for some time in favor of Infantry and Gatling guns. By the time you attacked though, I did not have the benefit of the GW, just a lot of zone of controls with my citadels and infantry camped in them.

As long as the three remaining world powers wish for peace, it will be achieved (until someone discovers artillery)

If the Romans think that they prefer having the GW rather than the benefits of defensive artillery, that is their prerogative and right.

Fortunately, the Great Wall is only useful until the invention of artillery which the Egyptians are well on the way to finding.

Onan needs to research Artillery to obsolete the GW. If Egypt has artillery and not Onan, the GW is still effective.

This is great for him because he can delay this tech and not fear too much about these units.

The old crazy and paranoid Pharoah recently sought guidance from the Oracle: he saw the prophecy of the 3rd World War. The first being Monty's ambition. The second being Askia and Ceasar's superpower. The third being Egypt's standing against the whole world......

Will that prophecy ever become true? Pharoah will certainly not be the one to initiate it, but the two superpowers may have been working together with their allies in terms of trade and research projects. Pharoah wants to seek the help from CSs but his past craziness lead to their unfavour that influence dropped at a rate of 2 even for friendly CS. To secure any possible chance of discovering coal, oil or aluminum, Egyptians are in support of Pharoah's plan to slowly annex the surrounding CS into Egyptian satellite cities, starting from the south side. The window of opportunity is short when Ceasar is finishing their wars and Askia is recovering the big nation from unhappiness. We certainly wish peace remains as long as it affords.

Suicidal Aztecs are no fun.:cringe::cry:

It seems Monty's dying wish is to sacrifice as much Roman blood as possible to take with him into the underworld. It is a fitting end to all this bloodletting. Monty, true to himself to the end!

4 crossbowmen were not enough to take down a knight :( Still 1 hp left
3-2-1-1 damage to a 8hp knight.

I really like how G&K solve this problem. No unit can do 3x more damage than some of his brothers. With 100hp it's less ''random''.

Yes G&K is so much better there. I hate how archers can still do 10% damage to pretty much any unit in classical.

SC gone to the Songhai and Egypt got some nice cash refund to upgrade our Chariots.

Hmn, Aztecs refuse peace. Must be a death wish.

Pharoah kindly reminds Ceasar to purchase the river tile near the newly settled property development land in 4 turns, or the tile will be claimed by our culture. Unless its a fortress designed specifically to spy Pharoah's palace or launch point of future attacks.

Did Ceasar use GE to rush forbidden palace? We should get that wonder on the same turn:(

It is hard to feel sorry for the Egyptians losing out on wonders to the Romans. The Songhai have decided that once more we shall be a peaceful nation rebuilding from civil war and creating great cultural monuments with which to awe our hut dwelling citizens.

We have received a curious message from the Songhai.

Their leader has asked us to take the last two remaining Aztec cities, to end their people's sadness.

Caesar has never sought conquest for its own sake. We do not want these cities, we do not want to become a grossly bloated empire. There was talk before of one of these cities being traded to the Russians. We would be happy for each of these cities to be administered by one of our Russian neighbours.

Let the community of nations have their say, so we may solve this conundrum in peace.

Mercy killing has always been the law of the savannah where the Songhai hunters honed their skills. If you will not put an end to the Aztecs, then the Songhai will do so. Askia does not wish for the Aztecs to suffer further from mad Monty's reign.

We Songhai have no wish to administer the Aztec cities so they would either burn to the ground or the Russian empires would need to step in.

*edit* also it would be faster with fewer players so the eponymous game will zip along, especially if Tab feels he is totally out of it.

Egypt is unbiased towards any of the proposals reached among the remaining nations. How to divide the land is no business of the Egypt. The only comfort that Ramsy may have is to draw Songhai army away from Egypt border. Right now Songhai scout parties are blocking the way of Egypt Army.
