I have had some trouble in 2 of the 5 games with research in the later parts of the game anyone have this trouble what do i need to do to fix it.

Every OCC I've tried the AI's keep slingshotting past me in tech later in the game. I've tried waring early and have had one conquest victory, but that was only at Noble level and had a bunch of aggresive AI's that beat each other up.

Many people doing a OCC do a beeline to Fiber Optics right after Rocketry, and build the Internet. So as long as there are two AIs keeping close to each other, the player will get all of their techs and can concentrate on production for building SS parts, and commerce for rushbuying. You can basically turn off your research and let them do the research for you. You do need to make sure to get the casings and thrusters out of the way early, so you only have to build one part every time the AIs reach a new tech. Your one city ought to be able to outproduce any single city from the AIs, and since there is only one part per tech after casings and thrusters, you should be able to finish yours before they finish theirs.

This breaks down if there is only one AI that is advanced in tech, though. Then the advanced AI will get techs long enough before you to nullify your production advantage. One solution is to gift a bunch of techs to the second place AI to bring them back into competition.

Oh yeah, unless you're going for a conquest victory (very difficult for a OCC on anything but a small map), avoid wars at almost any cost. They only slow you down and let other AIs pull away from you.

Hmmm. Just played two OCC games this week, both on noble. First game, I won rather easily, cranking great prophets early. I did war with 2 diff civs at two diff times, but mostly used spys while defending my boarders with stacks of troops. I had accrued a ton of cash, so the sabotage took out almost every improvement one civ had, while severely nerfing India's cities to keep them back on the Spaceship building. I didn't war until I had cossack, and quickly got the yard (playing Peter). With enough money, spies seem too good against noble AI, as they seem to rarely catch them, and don;t seem to catch on to what is going on. I easily got to the ship while India and Japan, the two close rivals, were still fabricating casings and thrusters.

Game two, with Louis, having a much harder time, with Persia warring almost immediately. I randomed, which was probably a bad idea on OCC... I have gotten every wonder while holding off the onslaught, as, once again, I have great prophet cranking. Still, my location is slightly sub-optimal, so I have a feeling this game won't favor 'ol Louis...

So, first game, I was thinking it was a tad too easy on noble, but alas....
