only some video sequences work

The vidios when I found a religion it's fine but the start movie is jerky (sound and vid). A friend suggested to me maybe low-res vidios but medium other graphis if possible. Would this work? I can't mod, to warn you. When i win a game my computer crashes and says not enough virtual memory. PLEASE HELP?

There are low-res version of the all the movies in the pipeline but they haven't been released yet, perhaps in the next patch maybe. Changing the graphic level will not affect the movies and you could just turn them off for the time being if it's holding up play.

What is dxdiag?

Start Button - click - select run - type dxdiag - press enter - wait a min - select "save all information" - then post the file as an attachment using the 'go ad advanced' button below.

Its a diagnostic check of your PC, fromthat we can have a look and possibly see whats going wrong, not always, but works most times

I did. Open the Civilization4.ini file and look for the line:
; Set to 1 for no in-game movies
NoMovies = 0

Just change 0 to 1 and the movies are off.

Your setup is not within the hardware specs of the game, you have on-board graphics not hardware supported T&L - ie a graphics card. Hardware specs required are below

The movie change will help a lot on the graphics load, however you will face increasing issues even if you get it to run initially.

The fact that you are below spec, means any changes to the game in the future will ignore the needs of your setup, compounding problems as time goes by.

The low graphics means it will use your pagefile a lot, and you need to increase it to 2000mb min=max

Yoiu have a high use of the active pagfile (373 Mb), you need to reduce the background Services & Applications running via MSconfig. The lack of graphics card also means that anything you can do to reduce the load on the graphics setup will help , no matter how small each change is. Plenty of posts on reducing load in the first 2 or 3 pages of the forum

Although not a happy message, you do need a graphics card with that beastie. Talk to HP re a suitable one that would fit the board ok and cause no heating issues. XFX 6600gt a good one to get, reasonably priced.
