Well I was amazed that when I checked this part of the forum to find only 2 posted messages. Tells us something about our fellow gamers doesn't it ?!? Anyway, to be honest, I don't have very many playing hours, yet, in deity and I haven't figured out the AI's madness yet. I made a leap from the low-mid difficulty cause I found it resoundingly easy.
Although I just started with a couple civs in deity I immediately noticed, even when playing on a larger map, that the closest civ does to me exactly what I should be doing to him.
None the less, I manage to thwart attacks, even at a cost - but its worth it cause I can't seem to take down one of his cities if I try. I have begun my startegy as a peaceful expansionist with a target of 10 cities as quick as possible and as close as possible with an attempt to secure as many resources like horses - which no matter what level I play the other civs seem to love - and iron.
I just feel, and I havent gotten to 100 AD yet, that I am missing somehting or that I have done something wrong already. Any ideas about government choice and culture? I had an idea that maybe lower my expansionistic desires for the future and focus on low corruption, high output science and culture. I am unsure and possibly a bit overwhelmed - any insight would be well received.

Ciao
