Will someone please tell me how I should download the GOTM, and how I can open it once I have downloaded it? Thank you.

I've gotten that far already, it's what to do after that is what I'm having trouble with. Thanks for helpin' though. And if you can help any more, I would be very appreciative. Thank you.
You use the link that ren gave. That puts you to the GOTM pages for Civ2.
Just below the picture of the starting spot is a line that reads 'Download Links:'. Directly below that are the two options you have for downloading the game. The first one is the zipped (or compressed) version that is a smaller file and thus downloads faster, but it requires you to unzip (or uncompress) the file using a program such as WinZip. The second choice is the direct saved game file.
Once you select the option you want, it should ask you whether you want to 'open the file' or 'save it to disk'. Select 'save it to disk'. Save the file to wherever you want your saved game file to be. If you downloaded the Zipped file, you then need to unzip it.
Then you start Civ and select the option to 'load a game', it will then ask which game you want to load and you select the game that you just saved to your computer.
From that point on you play the game as normal, being sure to follow the general guidelines there are for the GOTM.
