Which OS do you think is the best?

Personally, I think that, now matter what they're saying about XP, it runs fairly good. It doesn't come up with the blue screens, the sudden freezes etc.

But if I'm not using Unix, then I guess Win2k will have to do... provided I can install cygwin and get at some of the real power of the computer.

Ah, the question I voted on was for BEST operating system.

Well, I have not qualms with ME. It hasn't caused me much trouble at all. So, I guess my vote still stands then.

I use W2000. It runs fairly well, and it is very stable. It has some limitations, but nothing that you can't handle by going to win98.
I can't say it is the best since I haven't used all of the OS stated, but it is by far the best one I've ever used.

Have only ever used Windows 98.

Before that, until January 2001, used DOS. Don't know what version. 1991 model.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with XP. It runs smoothly. But Win2000 runs exactly the same way actually, except from new features.

Defenetly mac os x. The power of unix and simplicity of the mac... Apple never say it enought!

I use ME.

The best operating system was the punchcard. Back then, computers were very slow, and the waiting list to get time with them was weeks, so programmers wrote their coding to the highest standard of efficiency. Now, most programmers just expect faster computers to compensate for their bloated programs. Collectively, it's making computers perform more slowly than they should.

My family has 2 computers; 1 with Windows '98, and 1 with Win ME.
My god the Win-Me SUCKS.
