From the desk of the Minister of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of the Evaackk Empire:

Dear citizens and fellow officers,

I present to you a plan for exploring the uncharted lands beyond our borders. A map will be included illustrating my plan. I hope to stir up debate and create the perfect exploration plan, to get optimally benefit our nation.

The PLAN:
If the second city is to founded on the spot on the map and two EWs are quickly built, one will travel southwest and then north. The other one will head north and then west. This will form a circle which will reveal more prime city spots and give us a sphere of vision if any foreign units enter our territory.

The Map: Please feel free to discuss the map and make suggestions to improve it. I want to formulate the best plan possible.

Nice job. We need to spot good city locations quickly. Settler factory is operational in turn 27. That means 13 settlers in pre QSC period.

We are in the northern part of the world, there is coastal tiles in east. If there is rival(s) in our landmasses, they supposedly are coming from south.

Exactly. With the circular exploration we will discover coastal tiles to our east and what looks to be some nice land up north by the river, (starting from the mountain NW of Freedom Central) Also, since there won't be that much land up north we can focus on deeper exploration west, south, and east once the primary circle is completed.

Rather than going North (the green path), should we not concentrate on the SW and SE directions to start with, seeing that it is unlikely that there will be much to our North, given our starting position?

Do we know what kind of map we are on?

Hmmm... Why don't we enlarge the circles by about 50% larger than it is on your image.

Fine with me. I just made those lines as an example as to the general direction I wanted the warriors to go in. As for the specifics I hoped discussion among the citizens will form a consensus.

@MikMila, my point in going north was to follow the river I pointed out in an early post. That river can possibly fit quite a number of future cities. It is seemingly fertile land that we should explore. Also, as azzaman pointed out going north will just get us down south so it really doesn't make a difference.

The following map will clarify the movements I would like our first Enkidu Warrior to take, with the discovery of a mountain range. The EW will first move onto the mountain NW of the gold mountain. The blue path will be taken if more mountains are sighted to the south west. If not the EW will just head on the red path. After the mountain range is fully explored I'll post another map for further exploration. Also, once we get our second EW, the turn player should use the path outlined in the first post for directions.

Unfortunatly I have to tell that I can't play next turn. I'm away till 7th this month.

From the Gold mountain, the movement along the red path should be 1N, 1W instead of two moves NW. We get to the second square in one turn instead of two that way.

I would keep the EW due in 2 at home just in case we meet another team. If they see undefended cities they will declare war.

I doubt we will meet another civ for quite a few more turns. Also, by the time we meet one i expect we will have about a total of three or four EWs. depending on how many we decide for our 2nd city to make. We shouldn't worry about a civ destroying us this early in the game.

@ Elephantium, i felt that the point of going on the mountain NW of the gold mountain was to reveal more of the mountain range. the gold mountain probably won't reveal that much more. when we find out how much larger the range is we can plan more moves. i will update the map to reflect what i am saying.

when kuningas played turn 27 we discovered that the mountain range is quite large. we should continue going northwest on the outer edge of the range. really just continue going up from where the EW is.

How do we continue exploration? Northern EW climbs to Gems mountain, and circle is completed.

Settler is going to red spot in map.

I would send 1 EW north to the southern part of the world.

I agree we should explore the south, the northern EW is perfect. Also, I would like to have the EW west of gem mountain finish the circle and then head west and eventually south, we should run into another civ soon. I would also like two more EWs be built soon, we could use the defense.

We are building one EW currently.

I haven't posted demographics screens yet. Here is demographics from turn 36.

See the played turns thread for latest screenshots. We will get curragh in one turn. How we do make curragh to explore wm?

the curragh should head north that will take it to the south end of the world. we should send the EW that we have fortified north to follow the curragh to the green mountain at the northern tip. the EW near the hut should just pop it and the other EW should head north then south and explore that large chunk of blackness. when we get the 4th EW it should either help finish exploration or be fortified in a city or used as an escort for future settlers.
