OS Installation Question

If you don't have a CD-burner, you could maybe borrow one, put them on an FTP-server if your conection is fast, put them on a memory stick or set up a network with another computer to temporarily store the files there.
It's usually good to have at least one way of backing up files and a network or cd-burner are probably the best for the task.

Um, why all the complex solutions?

I've installed W98 many times without formatting my hard drive. Formatting is optional.

To answer the original question, yes. Do a system restore or Windows Repair (I forget what it's called in 98).

But to be honest, the best way to do it is to format the drive, because you can get crappy performance and run into problems by doing the above method.
