OT: Ideas about next Demogame

I see a the difference between orders or goals to the DP. Especially if the DP has to play many turns. If the governors give order, (build 1. this and 2. that and irrigate with bt1 and road with bt2 etc) then the DP must allways look at the plan and perhaps something new happend, the DP will have to decide, if it is important enough to terminate the turn or can he handle itself. If the DP get the goal maximize the growth at city 1 and maximize the commerce at city 2, he can make his owm decisions on the situation of game, in most times a good decision, also the governor has other ideas about it.

The citizens are total out of this. My question remains, what is the reason to participate as citizen then; not for myself, because i'm looking always after ideas to play better and learn a little english. But here the poster are officials mostly.

What we are trying to achieve here ..., is to format the discussions in such a way, that official are made to poll presented citizen alternatives along their own. Setting a timeframe on the official discussion and making it mandatory to present poll options in a formated way (putting some responsibility on MPs), would remove some of the confusion and lack of perspective that causes some of the trespasses (both official and citizen trespasses, and yes, citizens can trespass as much as officials). Making crystal clear mandates for officials have totally lacked this game, and I see the founding fathers here fell short compared to some of the mechanisms that worked out in the Civ3 demogames.

Aye, agreed. I'm still against the 5 day turn schedule, only because it would be _so_ much easier to check the forum (for more than a couple min), say, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (as a citizen).

I think we got different camps on timing here. The most extreme here call for 4 days, which I think is unheard. Personally, I have no problems in planning for 15 turns, even with contingencies and let the turnplayer play the extra 5 turns over 10, even to play these "by ear".

After all, this is a sort of "succession game", and I would not feel my citizen powers being lost, if a DP made some decisions on my behalf without my direct input.
