I grew up playing military simulations (board games) in the 70's. From 1990 it has been essentially Civ-type games: Civ2, CtP, Civ3/PTW.

I tried Starcraft, and have played a little space RPGs (e.g., Escape Velocity), but not much. My reflexes are bad enough that games that require quick hand/eye coordination frustrate me quickly.

WildFire444, I do realize that there is a forum for that. The reason I did not post it there is because not all of the members there have Civ3/PTW. I posted this thread in the *general *CIV3* forum* because all the people here have Civ3/PTW and I was asking what other games the civers play.;)

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, I realize that but if you posted in that section, you would get other people's opinions from the whole site from places like civ1/2 general forum, off topic and etc.

Also, I realized you changed your sig to Nobody instead of no body.

I occasionally try simulation or arcade computer games, but my "other" games are mostly traditional - backgammon, spades, cribbage, bridge, either real life or over the net. You didn't include an option for that in the poll...

"What makes you think that?"
I dont really know. Maybe the Avatar, or else you just sound "Machure" :p

Hey, Don't chastise me! I might tell you something you don’t know in the future!

And with that I changed my whole profile. ;)

This is my problem. The one time I tried one of the Mario games I couldn't get past Level 1, not because I couldn't figure out the very simple problem, but because my coordination wasn't fast enough. So I have to play games that let me go at my own speed.

I've played all the Civ games (except CivI), SMAX, Railroad Tycoon, and Caesar III. As soon as it's a lot less buggy, I intend to get MOO3.:D

This is a great poll, civrules! I voted for Racing games, because as the proud owner of two Porsches, I really enjoy being able to drive my cars (and other Porsches) in the game "Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed." Going 170 in my Porsche where I live would land me in jail in a big hurry, so I get it out of my system in the game. It should be noted, however, that I play Civ/PTW at least 30 times more than Porsche Unleashed.

Except CivIII (which I only resently started playing I play:

Medieval: total War, Elder Scrolls III; Morrowind (with Tribunal expansion of course), Command and Conquer; Generals, Stronghold, Myth III, Empire Earth, Natural Selection, Day of Defeat.

Those are however only a fraction of the games I own. Last time I counted the number was over 50. :D

Btw, diablo is NOT a Roleplaying game. Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale or Morrowind would be better examples.
I repeat, Daiblo is NOT a RPG!

I currently have ten different games installed on my computer at the moment and the only one I have been playing since Dec is CivIII (now PTW).

I picked up CivIII after a two year binge on Baldur's Gate (1, 2, and mods), Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, Warcraft (2 & 3), Tony Hawk 3, C&C Tiberian Sun, Dungeon Siege, NFS: Porsche Unleashed, Deus Ex, SimCity2000, SimGolf, and Unreal Tournament.

Even with all these options, I still go back to Civ every time. :D

Edit: And all of that excludes what I play over at my buddies place. (NHL 2003, Tiger Woods 2003, FIFA 2003)

I have tried all types of games but find I am either not good enough to advance very far ie. Shooter or just loose interest quickly.

I always get sick after 10 minutes, while playing a shooter. Besides my flatmates kill me before that time.

Now I'm trying to be healthy and play some squash, fieldhockey or baseball. Which is hard if you don't have a condition, so I always end up playing CivIII.

I spend most of my gaming time playing Civ. Come summer I switch over to RollerCoaster Tycoon after recent stints in some amusement park.

I will spend a good chunck of time playing Out of the Park Baseball while watching a game on TV. I think this is a very good baseball sim and I think is much better than those "hitting" baseball games where all it takes to win is the understanding of when to swing the bat.

On those days where I had a tough day at the old salt mines, i may spend a little mindless time playing the Sims but that only lasts for a short time since there is no point to the game.
