Other uses for workers

Automating is a bad idea as they choose lousy improvements to make. My suggestion is after you micro and build up everything just hit shift - a then they won't alter what you already have and when you get tech for railroads or have massive pollution they will come up and deal with the problem or improve ur roads to rails.
 
I'm sure glad you guys are here to tell me that indentured workers don't cost upkeep, I thought they were full price for half the work and was tediously settling a couple in each of my cities in hopes that they'd convert there.
 
Hey is there a command to make a worker automate to only build railroads? Like Shift-P for pollution patrol? I'm playing PTW if that matters.
 
Has anyone modded a late game worker upgrade (say "engineers") with more mobility? I tried but it didn't quite work.

Indeed. The only things you can do is to plant forest once and then cut it once. Am I correct that there is no "waiting time" for mture forest? Are there any way to find out which tile was "used" as forest?
Also in my patch six/seven dose not work. Granary became always empty when six/seven growth take place and half full from 12/13 growth.
