Anyone had one?

And no I don't want to head the cynics brigade telling me that OBE's do not exist. For us, they do not exist, but obviously for people who've experienced them, they do.

I am just curious to see if anyone here has had (or claims to have had) one.

I agree. I do not believe in "supernatural" either. Everything has a cause, and I think that makes life more facinating not less. If there was no cause & effect and everything was just magical and mystical there'd really be no cause to try and discover any order. We could just explain everything as beyond human comprehension, ordaned by a supreme God and curiosity would become a useless trait. But "thank God" the world is not that way. :)

I've had an out of body experience before, it's pretty freaky.
What was it like?

The only time perfection has had an outer body experience is when he's administering the babe thread and stumbles across the ebony babes. ;)

Well, it was just kinda floaty, and I saw myself lying in bed. I tried to move but I couldn't. The next thing I remember is waking up. I don't know if I just dreamt it up or what happened, but that's how my brain remembered it.

Edit:

Interesting. How long did it last for?

I don't know, I just remember the feeling and a couple of visuals of it. It was like a dream where forget most of it.

I know someone who was actually dead...no heartbeat, had to be brought back to life by doctors (after been crushed)...he experienced an OBE and swears to this day it happened and is true (white light, warm feeling, voices, all that jazz). The OBE even gave him some details of events to happen later in life, and they did indeed happen. I'd like to see science explain that! :p

Here's a couple psychological explinations
1: Self-fullfilling prophesy, your friend thinking it would happen made it happen
2: Perceptual set, your friend thought of the prophesy so much that something ambigious that vaguelly resembles it got interpreted as it

Of course he could have made some predictions that commonly come true anyways.

iam Sure that during gillutining in France even thou the head seperates from the body. The brain is still consicious and alive for 3 minutes. (3/3/3 rule)

Oh yeah, chemistry kicks ass!

Holy crap, I just realized I can spell Perfection with just chemical symbols!

Temporal lobe seizures have been shown to produce conscious out-of-body experiences. Magnetic stimulation of the right nodes replicates this, and has all kinds of weird effects: perceived elongation of body parts (like a belief that one's foot stretches from the floor to touch the ceiling), perception of a presence (typically angelic, demonic, or alien), religious ecstasy or awakening, and a sensation of hovering at the ceiling, regarding one's body from above.

I haven't experienced any of this myself, but you can bet if I'm ever near Laurentian University, I will stop by Dr. Persinger's lab and volunteer, just for the coolness factor.

The e isn't strictly necessary for the pronunciation, anyhow. :p
