it has been playing the crashing game..

it's not heat related cause i can play Doom3 till the cows come home with the heat montior alarm on 70.

it's not memory cause i spent the better part of my weekend!!! testing it..

i've tried drivers and install locations and compatability modes... yes i use driver cleaner, yes in safe mode.

even feng shui... to no avail..

anyway, i go to play and it gives me this xml bizzo, i think ok, i read about this i'll try the fix... nothing.

then i look in the corner and it says, xml file is corrupt...

then when i rebooted windows goes and has heart attack about some corrupt files and gets scandisk to do it's thing...

i don't know whether it's cause of the crashes or the crashes are cause of this..

but i think someone else mentioned this happening on their PC so my advice is: if it's crashing.... DON'T PLAY IT!!!!

it can break your PC

or wait for a patch..... ..... and hope this is addressed..

Try the thread about crashing or freezing game. Most people with ATI-cars solves the problem by downgrading to an older Catalyst (some minor program that helps the drivers in the ATI-graphic card???).

i've got a 6800nu and i've tried 71.89, 76.something 77.77, 85.85, 85.87, 85.89.

all the adjustments in settings and bios settings.. i've done. even cas latency in my ram.

but i'm not installing it again..... till the patch... after i've read the fixes in the readme..

i don't know if it's possible to cause more nasty hdd corruption, but corrupt files + chkdsk dosen't sound healthy... just cause of a game.
