Oz's Great Re-Upload Quest

... And so it begins, even if it only continues slowly due to R/L & all.

For those few of you unaware, the databases cut-off at July 2006 due to what I've come to call, "The Great Hacking." Much was lost - at least to the CFC database.

I have much of it on my hard drive. Certainly, many items are rightly considered sub-par - but some date from (the earliest I have) ca. 2001. Again, much worth ignoring and thereby consigning them to the proverbial dustbin of history - but, then again, many not.)

Given the recent ripple of requests for some of ripptide's units, I've decided to (albeit slowly) pick-and-choose whatever I consider "worthy" and re-upload them to the database - & I will definitely take requests.

(BTW, I don't care if links to them seem to exists in Artist's Lists or they're attached to individual posts; I have neither the time nor interest to track all such down: I'm simply going to assume that anything from before July 2006 is "lost." Period.)

- So, after the small, recent spate of ripptide requests, kindly check the Industrial Units db for aaglo's Sdkfz 251 Wurfrahmen, as well as 2 (two) Sdk 222s (packaged together, desert & grey) by Kingpin (and how many here remember that name?)

I'll keep this thread updated; do my best to undertake requests (and I generally check in on the "Units Wanted" section regularly) and any help is more than appreciated.

I took the liberty to upload the elusive M2A4 Lt tank by Ripptide. I think I made it

I inherited a big DB as you might think. However I must first sort it out. A big mess in order I am sad to say. If I find anything else missing in the DB I try to upload it. If it´s worth it that said.

Excellent! (For those of you who don't know, clamel is Cemo1956's son; Cemo1956 has, to great sorrow, passed away.)

Basically, anything from before July 2006 can be considered gone from the db; if you wouldn't mind posting your u/ls in this thread, we can be all but assured of duplicates.

Oz - I've been lurking around since the Civ2 days, so I remember many older units, such as the Pimp, very well. If I remember a specific unit that I cannot find in the DB, I will ask for it here. I've already found quite a few that weren't in the DB but were available as a direct download on the forums. What I'll do moving forward is post those I can find in the DB, and ask you here for the ones I simply cannot find at all.

To all - my apologies about how slowly I've been working on all this, but R/L & All That Jazz is annoyingly demanding these days.

Also, I'm sorting through what to post and not. Unless I get a specific request, I'm sorting through and deciding what and what not to re-upload based upon obvious criteria - e.g., if the quality is wretched and there is a far better choice available ... well, so it goes.

Also, quite a few very early units have only 2 Anims: Attack and Default. Again, unless specifically requested, No Go. Ditto static Leaderheads.

- Also, again, I'm just assuming that anything before July 2006 is MIA; any corrections or whatnots are most welcome.

It'll take a few months, but please recall that I'm going through thousands of items with limited time (didn't know we're that prolific, huh?)

Nonetheless, methinks I'll take Ogedei's note as a, "specific request." Expect them in the DB within the next few days *

I lost Gladys of the Coritani this way and would be eternally grateful if anyone has it and could upload it. (I'm talking about the four-era version - there was the ancient single-era version and the medieval single-era version that were both uploaded here).

Hallo Wotan49, Rob sucht die 4-Epochen Version, die ihm mit EVO verloren gegangen ist. Deine Abbildungen sind nur die Epochen 1 und 2-Versionen, die auch bei CFC nach wie vor vorhanden sind. Ein "Upload" macht nur Sinn, wenn Du die 4-Epochen-Version hast.

Translation: Hello Wotan49, Rob is looking for the 4-era version, that he lost with EVO. Your Images only show the era 1 and era 2 versions, that are still available at CFC. An upload only makes sense, when you have the 4-era version.
