What P2P program do you use??

for those who desnt know... P2P means Peer too Peer....

Doesn't Napster still exist? And I think you missed the option "none".

Anyway, I only have KaZaA Lite. Why would I use more? I used Morpheus in the past, but they didn't pay their bills to KaZaA, so they were cut off of the network. :p

DC++ (notice the ++, if you use DC then I say go for DC++)

And DC rocks, best prog for now. Used Morpheus in the past... and before that scours <-- mostly mp3 here.

No, Napster doesnt exist (altough I think there is some Napster wannabes that still exists).

I belive the "Other" option icludes "none" becuse the you can specify that you have none... :D

does audiogalaxy still exist? I thouht it went off the net a few months ago?

Anyway you missed two important choices. EMule and Overnet. Emule is a open-source tclone of the edonkey client with many improvements which IMHO is much better than the original e-donkey (although v.44 looks promising).

Overnet was intended to be the successor of e-donkey working serverless so you can forget about that tedious serverlist-updating.

anyway, I use emule (since it's an edonkey-clone I voted for that,) and I have Kazaa Lite installed although I rarely use it anymor.

If you own Kazaa you may have software called Gator or Cydoor on your computer. These claim to be innocent but what they actually do is watch your net habits and then open pop-up ads at random that they feel are to your taste. They are annoying, they are there without you permission and they are just plain bad.

Get ADAWARE, it will get rid of all that crap :D

I think I have Kazaa lite. Is that also called Diet Kazaa? I think so; it blocks the ads, I've heard.

Either way, I use Diet Kazaa. :D I had Napster when it was still around, and Limewire for a few days (sucked!).

What's Kazaa and Kazaa lite? What's the difference? I know what Kazaa is.

None. I don't believe in sharing peer-to-peer; and anyway, I could never do it anyway. Dialup is horrible long; a 9MB download takes an hour. I've learned that through much experience and it's a baseline - "Is it worth it?"

We are not actully promoting piracy here... and to add to it, I pay for the movies I download(and watch) by renting them later... don't know how long I will do this though, as the movie companies don't seam to get there lasy ass out and give us a system to download and pay for movies.

So, I'm not realy piracying I'm I?

This thread is going to get nuked when a mod sees it. Promoting piracy is a HUGE :nono: at this site.

Using P2P-Software is NOT piracy: downloading copyright-protected date is.

So talking about P2P is not promoting piracy. You can very well use it without ever dl'ing anything illegal.

The movie companies HAVE made places where you can download movies and watch them by paying for them. You can't keep the movies for more than a month however. There are special sites for this, I can't think of the name. It's like renting a movie for a month.
