Ok SLight delay but I will finsh my turns and post a report tomorrow night...
But at least I will have done the MM turns to get the next player ready to have some fun versus Louis and have broken the back of our Corporation Spreading.
Firstly Apologies for the scarcity of Images in the report but had problems with Photobucket and decided not to delay the report but add in images later At least you can have a save
Plan
Well with all the excellent warring down recently it was time for a corp spreading infrastructure building turn set ready for the next Hostile takeover.
We are along way from the different GP we need for a GA so decided time to just swallow the Anarchy to get rid of Emancipation unhappiness. As we get on extra civic switch for the same anarchy decided to take Vassalage as well as we will soon be all out military.. So we have 2 GSs, once can go on a future GA when we pop our next GP but suspect the game will be over we can use both for a GA so suggest we burn one to part research Electricity to get us close to Tanks. (they are sleeping in a fort)
Research went Artillery -> Combustion, had to dial down research a bit as intense corporation spreading chews up cash but with a good long term payback. With combustion in we had to sacrifice a town to get our one land based Oil resource on tap so we can improve our navy
Builds.
Decided to go all out Infrastructure basically building needed buildings, executives and adding in a few ships to get ready for the push. We are close now to going full on Military though.
So here is how we started in corporation terms lets see what progress we can make in a set
Other events.
Nothing really exciting. We got a very appropriate random even to spread Sis Sushi to 8 cities which gave me a nice warm glow.
A few non-exciting requests to stop trading but nothing to worry about as no AI seems to be frothing at the mouth yet..
and had to renegotiate the odd resource trade to maximize Sid and Mining resources, worth checking every few turns in case more become available.
End of Set
Combustion in and electricity selected but havent bulbed one of our GSs. We may want to 0% research for a few turns for a massive upgrade programme.
We have a part modernized navy which can now quickly redeploy our troops for hostile operations versus Louis.
Corporation spreading had been fairly successful and now needs to be moved onto the island we share with Darius.
Our position is strong with a massive hammer lead care of Mining Inc and Infantry + Artillery are a long way from being obsolete..
Just to let you know, I'll be away from my civ comp from tomorrow till monday afternoon, but do have internet access. Supposing Paulus and Meiz play pretty quickly (which is not that unusual) I'll need a swap with Pindrus. Or take your time and I'll be in time for my next set . If you haven't killed everybody by then, that is...
This progress report will be sent to the Marketing department immediately as it will undoubtedly be pleasing to the general public!
Especially excellent to see the acquisition of more resources for our trademark brands.
One small note upon initial review (not able to open save until later today) is questioning whether the offices of Group HO and Washington have courthouses to maximize corporate efficiency. Both seem to have an undue drain on financial reserves.
We should also conduct pre-engagement naval training exercises in Zulu-controlled waters to minimize cost.
--
I should be able to swap with you, Nocho, if necessary. We'll see how things move along over the weekend.
I suggest renaming corporate quarters to "River Office". The new name is short enough to fill any advertising billboard yet literate enough to improve your image in customers' eyes.
Well, so I started the attack on Louis after exchanging a bit of units to get the newest in military hardware to the front. Tech path went Electricity -> two turns of Flight, then trade with Willem -> Industrialism.
Flight will make the attack so much more efficient. We can really use that.
Ancient ruins help us on discovering Electricity. Yeah, right.
Spoiler:
Mansa has built the UN. We (with a bit of bribing the French and Dutch delegates) are elected Secretary-General of the UN. I decided holding a Single Currency vote; we've got the most cities so it will help us the most. The vote passes.
Spoiler:
And we've captured Lyons. The first of many French cities. We can now airlift units in. The war was of course won before we declared it.
I researched Indrustialism and Radio, then traded Rocketry with Willem and ended my turns when Plastics was completed. Research is left to Satellites, because it's on the way to Advanced Flight and Composites (and modern armors! ).
We did manage to get a Great Merchant from Group HO and started a golden age. I adjusted that the next GP would come from Seattle (high change for spy or engineer). Group HO's next GP is currently coming couple of turns behind, so I'd advice not to hire any more specialists there until Seattle gets a GP. Note that Group HO grows next turn!
Louis is already done, but here is a picture of our war front. I just spotted Magyar in lower left corner, we should raze it asap to get rid of the annoying French culture! (Note that I don't have anything against French culture in general ). I think we'll be ready for Mansa right after our current invasion.
We still have one turn of GA left, but I didn't see any reason for civic switches.
Ps. I haven't patched to 3.19. Do we agree to complete this game without patching? I'd rather not do a dual install

I see it and, since the game seems to be pretty well in cleanup mode will probably play later today. I'm still on 3.17 and figured like you that we'd just finish this with that. So my save at least will be in 3.17.
Glancing at the save quickly it looks like I might flip into Rep. With all the extra food we are running 2-6 spec's in most cities and don't have more than 1 police unit in most cities. Might make a few more unhappy faces, but I think the science boost will be significant.
Mansa is also pretty close to cultural (25k in 3rd city), so he will probably have to be the next target.
Summary:
Sorry for the brief delay, but here we go! Goals for the session are the wrap up with the French, one way or another, and get started on the Mali. We accomplished both, with a very funny move by Mansa in 1884.
Probably will make a shorter report to keep things from slogging down during the long turns... We'll see.
Turn-by-Turn
IT (1878 AD)
Louis makes a decent offer for capitulation, including the city locked in Mali culture (a temporary situation). But things don't really look in place yet for the Mali war, so I will continue for a few turns more.
Also remember that Mali and Persia have a defensive pact, so will need some troops on our shared island expansion to take out those two cities of Darius'. Can they both be wiped out on turn 1 of the war? Time will tell.
I swap a few builds for military production (Do we need security bureaus? Markets & other happy buildings I understand).
Our corporate empire also tires of obeying the whimsical commands of young leaders in power only because their families own controlling interests in Sid Sushi and Mining Inc. The Zulu demand that everyone's voice be heard through elected representatives.
Before:
After:
The beakers also aren't as dependant on the GA, so the difference would probably have been greater if we could switch instantly next turn. But of course this isn't the main course for today, so on to more action...
Turn 1 (1880 AD)
Louis has nothing left, so the tanks race ahead to take Marsailles. Will capture Tours & Magyar next turn and call it a day with him.
A preview of Mali defenses, courtesy of the blimps.
A fair number of units in the capitol, but Nani should fall easily.
Turn 2 (1882 AD)
And with bomber support Magyar falls easily. Unfortunately not enough air power was able to be applied to Tours, so that will have to wait a turn.
B]Turn 3 (1884 AD)[/B]
Eek! I debate whether we can win the vote, assuming others all vote in favor (though Mansa wouldn't if he knew what was good for him), and whether defying will have any effect if we end the war this turn anyway. I do this in the end, though in retrospect this was probably pretty silly because it wouldn't take effect next turn anyways... And the funny part was that I could have traded for Mass Media with WvO last turn!
As anticipated, with newly arrived bombers playing backup, Tours raises the Zulu flag.
And Louis is down to 2 cities. All that much closer to Domination I suppose. Perhaps it would've been better to just ignore this nonsense, but I've used the turns to arrange forces on the Mali border and heal up. It was only really a handful of tanks pushing the last few French cities.
Speaking of Mansa... will he never learn? LOL! This is my favorite picture!
Turn 4 (1886 AD)
Satellites in, on to Advanced Flight.
And phew, no harm no foul right?
WvO builds his Apollo. Yawn.
Turn 5 (1888 AD)
Nothing to see here... especially for you Mansa!
We have divided forces between a "Slow" stack with infantry, SAM infantry, artillery, and cannons (!) which will strike out in the north over hills and forests, and a "Fast" stack with tanks and more tanks which will sweep across the open fields of the south with air support.
It sort of hurt to pave over riverside towns, but our air commanders requested more landing space. Should be able to declare next turn!
Turn 6 (1890 AD)
Seems I am always bearing bad news.
And we capture our island back from Darius (it was rightfully ours in the first place I tell you!). Sushi had just recently pushed Zulu culture close enough to take both cities immediately with 2-move tanks.
Turn 7 (1892 AD)
Mansa kills a couple tanks, but we shall push on! Also Darius vassalizes to big brother Mansa.
Ooh, I guess we get to kill the Mali Air Force in our first assault! Maybe we should have patched to 3.19...
And there go Mansa's cultural victory plans. Nani comes with the Kremlin, UN, and a Mil. Acad.
We also get a GG, but I'm not sure what to do with him. I mean, what city ISN'T already producing a military unit every turn? I end up putting him as an instructor in Mining Ops for the CR3 tanks rolling off the assembly line.
Turn 8 (1894 AD)
Mansa attempts a counterattack, but only brings 2 artillery to the party on a forested hill.
Advanced Flight in, on to Composites.
Turn 9 (1896 AD)
Darius is being a PITA, sailing around our home continent with some destroyers. I've tried to queue fishing boats in places that lost nets and have some better naval defenders in the works (our galleons lost pretty quickly...)
Turn 10 (1750 AD)
The tanks push on and have taken a suburb of the Mali capitol. A second "Fast" stack continues in the south. And in the north the "Slow" stack is getting passed by a reinforcement tank column. We control the skies after killing off all the Mali fighters in the first couple rounds of war and destroying their bombers on the ground in captured cities.
Overview of the front & former France. Sushi has an added bonus of popping wartime boundaries quickly! Note the highly professional image editing. We also have a small stack of tanks healing on the island that can be transporter over soon, maybe to take out Takedda on the southern Mali coast.
Spoiler:
TOP SECRET:
French Lands:
And how close are we to victory?
Closing Thoughts
I produced units in just about every city, but we can probably more or less stop now. The logistics aren't too bad though, with cities with airfields producing tanks and those without making planes. Sort of illogical, but it makes getting units to the other continent easy.
FP is queued in Lyons to deal with the crazy expenses there. It means we are paying colony expenses on our 6-city island, but that isn't really a big deal at this point.
We may need more than Mali as a vassal to reach Domination, but probably not. In former French lands you can see that we will still gain a fair amount of territory. Mansa hasn't yet been willing/able to capitulate (Darius is still HIS vassal), and we should probably take his capitol first anyway just to be safe about culture. Maybe Darius will capitulate too once he breaks free? War weariness isn't too bad yet, so we could also just go until that gets to be a problem. Though at this point we can use the culture slide aggressively if we need to. We don't really need any more techs to win.
A UN vote is probably coming up soon (I just passed on any vote b/c I wanted to lay down some ), so we could go for a cheap diplo win too.
On the home front we need to rebuild some fishing nets.
OK, so I guess this wasn't actually all that much shorter. I have to get faster at these reports.
